The Canberra Distillery – Negroni

The Negroni was conceived well before the invention of a Dry Gin, so Count Negroni would most likely made his cocktails from a barrel aged Gin distilled from wine spirit. To be true to its origins, this Barrel Aged Negroni uses a red wine from the Canberra region, distilled with juniper and more than a dozen other herbs. It is blended with vermouth and bitters and aged with heavily charred oak, to fuse and soften the complex spice flavours. It is best served on the rocks, with a dash of soda, a wedge of orange and a burnt stick of cinnamon. l gin cocktails but is best served on ice, as a Gin and Tonic or a Gin Fizz.

The Canberra Distillery – Blood Orange Gin

This gin is just the real deal – an old-fashioned spirit made from fruit and spice with the focus on the rich and sweet aromas of the blood orange. No preservatives, additives or artificial flavours. It is brought together with ingredients from other small growers and producers. Best enjoyed straight or with mineral water, but also likely to add an extra dimension to cocktails.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance – Pale Pink

Nose – Aromas of orange peel, juniper, coriander, and citrus.

Palate – Off dry style, smooth texture, flavours of orange peel, juniper, coriander, citrus.

Recommended – This gin shows a nice balance between the acidity of the orange peel and the fragrance of the botanicals Versatile Gin, with a long finish, can be drink by himself or in a cocktail.
